CSCMP annually presents several awards to honor a select group of members, individuals and organizations who have made outstanding contributions to the supply chain management industry.

CSCMP's Supply Chain Hall of Fame

To preserve the history of some of the greatest, life-changing innovations and inventions from around the world and to honor the leaders that have made the supply chain management industry what it is today, we created CSCMP's Supply Chain Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame signifies the lifelong accomplishments of those members of our industry who have truly improved the world we live in. Distinguished Service Award

CSCMP's Distinguished Service Award is the industry's most prestigious honor, bestowed upon an individual for significant achievements in the logistics and supply chain management industry. Presented annually, the award was instituted in 1965 as a tribute to logistics pioneer John Drury Sheahan. The nomination period for the 2024 Distinguished Service Award runs from January 8 – February 9 (No Extensions will be granted). Submit a nomination.

Emerging Leader Award

Created for young professionals by young professionals, CSCMP's Emerging Leader Award recognizes rising leaders for their meaningful contributions to supply chain management. The nomination period for the 2024 Emerging Leader Award runs from January 8 – February 9 (No Extensions will be granted). Gail Rutkowski Transportation Excellence Award

The Gail Rutkowski Transportation Excellence Award recognizes companies or individuals that have excelled in using their knowledge, connections, and industry expertise to educate, support and create long-term impact through excellence in transportation-related fields. The nomination period for the 2024 Transportation Excellence Award runs from January 8 – February 9 (No Extensions will be granted). The Supply Chain Innovation Award recognizes teams who have demonstrated excellence, innovation, and return on investment for a significant supply chain challenge. The submission period for the 2024 Supply Chain Innovation Award runs from January 8 – February 9 (No Extensions will be granted). Submit a nomination.

Supply Chain Sustainability Award

The annual Supply Chain Sustainability Award has been established by the CSCMP Sustainable Supply Chain Committee in order to recognize an individual(s) who has made a positive and genuine impact in advancing social and environmental sustainability in the supply chain. The work of the individual(s) inspires others and stands out in the supply chain profession. The submission period for the 2024 Supply Chain Sustainability Award is January 8 – May 24.

Categories include:

  • Supply Chain Team or Individual – recognizes a visionary, innovative development, or creation of a new idea, program, and its successful execution in order to further the area of sustainability by either an individual or cross-functional team (if a team, team must include a third party/external partner and no more than five (5) team members in total)
  • Academic/Researcher – recognizes the contribution to the body of knowledge supporting sustainable supply chains and increased educational resources in sustainability

CSCMP Academic Awards

Bernard J. La Londe Best Paper Award

The Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) presents the Bernard J. LaLonde Best Paper Award to the most valuable paper published in the Journal of Business Logistics.

Eligibility

To be considered for this prestigious award, your paper must be published in the Journal of Business Logistics. The JBL provides a forum for the dissemination of original thoughts, research, and best practices within the logistics and supply chain arenas.

Bernard J. La Londe Award Recipients

Teaching Innovation Award

Within CSCMP's Academic Research Symposium, an academic track is devoted to supply chain management teaching innovation and pedagogy. From these submissions, the Editorial Review Panel awards the submission with the largest impact on students and instruction within the field of supply chain and logistics. CSCMP is honored to present the Teaching Innovation Award to faculty members making a difference in the next generation of supply chain professionals.

E. Grosvenor Plowman Award

This award is presented annually to one of the papers accepted for presentation at the Academic Research Symposium. Among the papers that are presented, the best research is selected by the Editorial Review Panel and awarded the distinguished E. Grosvenor Plowman Award. The Plowman Award is given in honor of E. Grosvenor Plowman, a lifetime supporter of both CSCMP and the logistics profession. Since its inception over thirty years ago, the award has been offered annually.

Doctoral Dissertation Award

The 2022 Doctoral Dissertation Award (DDA) is open to all who will have completed their doctoral work in a field related to functions within the supply chain between January 1, 2022, and May 15, 2022. If you have already accepted a position at a college or university, you may still apply.

To be considered eligible, candidates MUST be a member of CSCMP and follow the criteria and formatting guidelines and submit a completed application form to the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP). The online submission period is open March 1, 2022 – June 1, 2022.
