Building Flexibility in Global Supply Chain Organizations
Building Flexibility in Global Supply Chain Organizations
This issue of CSCMP Explores… examines supply chain organizational design as a valuable tool to respond to an increasingly dynamic business environment. Structural flexibility enables a firm to remain “change ready” and be able to adjust the SCMO organizational design to meet ever-changing conditions. SCMO executives indicated that having structural flexibility allowed their SCMOs to respond to a wider array of changes in products, processes, and competitive environments in a faster and/or less costly manner than competitors while maintaining, or even improving, service levels.
