Extending Distribution Resource Planning to the Retailer

Extending Distribution Resource Planning to the Retailer
To help companies effectively implement store-level distribution resource planning (DRP) and maximize the value they can gain from it, in 2012 the Voluntary Interindustry Commerce Solutions (VICS) Association produced a best practices guideline called The Ultimate Retail Supply Chain Machine: Connecting the Consumer to the Factory that covers both store-level DRP implementation and its integration into business processes across the supply chain. This issue of CSCMP Hot Topics describes the benefits that can be gained from adopting and leveraging store-level DRP based on the practices in the guideline.
