  • How traditional supply chain management decisions are made
  • Risks that companies face regarding potential disruption to expected supply chain performance and financial consequences
  • Ways to create mitigation strategies that can be applied to add resiliency to the operation without necessarily adding additional operating costs.

Course Format

This interactive online self-study course runs over a two week timeframe. Review the course instructional material at times convenient to your schedule. Actively participate in an online discussion focused on the topics covered each week and complete the following activities:

  • View and listen to a voice over PowerPoint presentation delivered by Richard Sharpe of Competitive Logistics each week
  • 60 to 100 pages of reading, learn from industry experts and the latest research
  • Participate in live online discussions with students from all over the world
  • Write two "professional memorandums" to respond to an issue in supply chain risk mitigation by senior management that can be applied to the mitigation of supply chain risk for your own organization
  • Complete an exam at the conclusion of week two

The instructor, Richard Sharpe, CEO of Competitive Logistics LLC, will provide a written critique of your discussion participation and essay.

Certification and Accreditation

Supply Chain Risk Mitigation Certification is issued by both ICOR and CSCMP. Successful completion of the Supply Chain Risk Mitigation course requirements and passing the exam with an 80% or higher earns students the designation of Certified Supply Chain Risk Associate (SCRA), the first in a series of four supply chain risk management certificates.
