Canada

This issue covers the socioeconomic and supply chain environment in the country of Canada. Canada occupies 41 percent of North America, making it the second largest country in the world by area. An eight-hour by one-hour rectangle just north of the Great Lakes in Central Canada is home to about 70 percent of the population, while 90 percent of the Canadian population lives within one hour of the American border. The long distances between population centers make for a very difficult country to handle logistically, but Canada’s envious proximity—and the most extensive geographical exposure—to the largest economy in the world, the United States, is a great advantage.
