Call for Papers on Connective Technology

For the past several years, the field of logistics has experienced unprecedented development and implementation of technologies such as RFID, wireless, bar codes, interactivity, and even new uses for applications such as GPS and Doppler. Because of growing CSCMP member interest in these technologies, CSCMP is sponsoring a Call for Papers on Connective Technology as it relates to logistics and supply chain management.

Send in your submissions today and take advantage
of this unique opportunity to present your ideas to the CSCMP membership!

Submissions To Be Considered in Three Main Categories

Case Studies: 1-2 pages long, on a specific technology. The case study will highlight real world example(s) of implementation and the uses of a specific technology today such as RFID. For these case studies we require that the author partner with practitioners to document their experiences, lessons learned, and benefits of the use of this technology.
Spring Deadline: April 30.
Fall Deadline: September 30.

Vision White Papers: 5-10 pages long, examining the future of a given logistics technology. The white paper will discuss the possible or probable technology applications and the benefits to the logistics community such as the future of RFID adaptation over the next three to five years. The intent is to provide a forward-looking predicative view.
Spring Deadline: April 30.
Fall Deadline: September 30.

Academic Research Papers: on the use of technology in logistics. Submissions are to be sent to Journal of Business Logistics Editor and undergo the JBL editorial review process. Academic research papers will generally provide a more extensive look at technology in logistics. These submissions must not have been published before, and will undergo the editorial board’s peer review process. Please format your manuscript according to the JBL Style Sheet and Guidelines, and submit these entries as requested on the style sheet guidelines.
Deadline: Please contact the JBL Editor using the process above.

Review Process

Case Studies and Vision White Papers are reviewed by the Connective Technology Editorial Review Board (CTERB). Approved papers are published on the members-only section of CSCMP’s website.

Academic research papers must be sent directly to the JBL Editor and undergo the JBL review process. Approved papers will be published in a forthcoming issue of the JBL.

Submission Process
Our intent is to publish the newest technology information on an ongoing basis. Send a cover with your contact information and state the type of submission being sent, along with the electronic file of your submission(s) in MS Word via email to CSCMPResearch@cscmp.org If you miss the first deadline, please consider submitting something later. To learn more about this project, please call Jessica D’Amico, CSCMP Research Project Coordinator, at (630) 645-3460.
