Description: *CSCMP Roundtable Meeting* U.S. & Global Trade Policy Trends & Expectations Thursday, September 16, 2010 Speaker: Pete Mento Regarded as one of the world's leading experts on International Trade Policy and Supply Chain Security. Pete Mento is an often quoted source on the development of the US and Global economy and the role that trade policy plays. Because of his passion for this topic, and his unparalleled skill at illuminating complex (and often dry) topics in international trade, Pete is a very sought after speaker throughout the world. He has conducted sold out lectures to tens of thousands of people in every imaginable venue from university lecture halls to comedy clubs. He is the most unlikely trade nerd you will ever meet. Mento is a Trade Academic who has written many articles and work papers on Trade Theory and Trade Practices. His current studies find him at the University of Durham in the UK where he is pursuing his degree in Trade Law. He is especially well versed in matters of duty minimization, international finance, free trade as a force for the elimination of poverty, defense industry compliance and cross border free trade agreements. Pete most recently served as the Principal Consultant of Expeditors Tradewind where he spent seven years leading the organization. He served a major stint as a U.S. Merchant Marine officer and appointments with A E I and Panalpina. He served those two companies in both the Freight Forwarding and Trade Services. He is a die hard fan of the Boston Red Sox.
