The Milwaukee Roundtable of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals will hold a tour event at the CNH Industrial Racine Plant – Home of the Case IH Magnum & New Holland T8 Tractors on Tuesday, April 29. This is a walking tour that includes seeing the tractor and transmission assembly lines and machining area. The tour begins at 9 a.m. and takes approximately 2-1/2 hours to complete. Please make sure you have comfortable, closed toed walking shoes for the tour. Tours are conducted by retirees. After the tour we will have lunch at a local restaurant (not included in the cost.)

The CSCMP Baltimore Round Table invites you to a discussion of port security to continue our season-long security theme. Mr. David Espie, the Director of Security of the Maryland Port Administration will be presenting on his efforts as Director to make sure that the Port is as secure as possible. He comes to the MPA with an incredible background in security including extensive FBI experience including serving as the Bank Robbery Task Force Supervisor and Senior Polygraph Examiner, along with many other roles. Mr. Espie will speak about local and federal security as well as what he learned about terrorism serving as an FBI Forensic/Evidence Collection Shift Commander for the 2001 Pentagon site. Discussion will be led by: Mr. James Rice, Jr. MIT/Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Engineering Systems Division Director, Integrated Supply Chain Management Program, Center for Transportation and Logistics Director, Supply Chain Exchange Jim Rice is the Director of the Integrated Supply Chain Management (ISCM) Program at the Center for Transportation and Logistics (CTL), having joined CTL in 1995. The ISCM Program is a consortium that enables companies from industry to interact with faculty and researchers across MIT on education and research in the supply chain domain. Jim’s research is on organization and supply chain design, recently focusing on how supply chains respond to disruptions (e.g. terrorism), supply chain security and creating competitive advantage through supply chain design and management. Jim also serves as project manager for the Supply Chain Response, and teaches a graduate course (“Supply Chain Context”) in supply chain management.
