When and why did you join CSCMP?
Joined in November 2020. I’ve heard a lot about CSCMP and the networking and education opportunity it provides. Then I saw the opportunity to be a mentor via the mentorship program on Linkedin. Mentoring is a passion of mine and so I joined CSCMP to be a part of that with the hopes to help fellow Supply Chain professionals and students especially those emerging and just getting into the field.

What advice do you have for new CSCMP members on how they can maximize their membership value? What membership benefit do you find most valuable?
Though I am new to CSCMP, I can easily say network, network, and network. Its so critical to built a strong network within supply chain not just for knowledge sharing but also to help each other in a tough and volatile job market.

How did you get into supply chain management/logistics?
A summer internship in manufacturing with The Estee Lauder Companies as a Production Supervisor at a Fragrance filling and packaging plant. I loved the fast paced manufacturing environment, problem solving opportunities and realizing all that went into making a product. I was hooked!

Describe your job in a tweet (i.e. 140 characters)
I am responsible for developing end-to-end supply chains and leading the execution of functional group activities towards successful launches of new products globally

What are your top three job responsibilities?

  1. Develop the global launch end to end supply chain strategy and design for new products
  2. Drive on time execution of new product launches globally
  3. Lead the development and deployment of standardized processes to improve supply chain design and launch execution

What is the biggest challenge you face on the job, and how are you managing it?
At this time learning about all the incredible new biotherapeutic product launches and technologies that are going to bring real positive impact on people’s lives along with all the opportunities and challenges ahead from a supply chain perspective

What technologies, trends, or disruptive forces do you see having the biggest impact on supply chains?
I think the emergence of targeted therapies and new complex technologies to help solve some of the most devastating diseases a we face today continues to have a major impact on Supply Chain Management. Supply Chains will need to be even more predictive, agile, scalable and resilient.

If you were to start a company from scratch, what values would you build it on?
Ethics and integrity at its core, diversity of thought and culture, and a nurturing business environment

What are you proudest of?
I am proudest of those moments when I see those that I have had the privilege of coaching or mentoring reach new heights and achieve success in their individual careers.

If you could interview anyone, who would it be and why?
There are so many...but recently Ulysses S Grant comes to mind. I recently finished ‘Grant’ by Ron Chernow which is a brilliant biography of an often misunderstood general and later President during a very tumultuous time in US history.

Of course I took particular notice about his background and expertise in logistics which gave him a particular edge when coordinating massive battle plans

What was your childhood dream job?
History Teacher....and sometimes an FBI agent!

When you retire, what will be the first adventure you take, or what will be the first thing you will do for which you may not otherwise have had the time?
I love history and so spend more time visiting historically significant locations both here in the United States and abroad.

Join CSCMP today and become a part of our global supply chain management community.
