Enjoy Networking and Lunch with Industry Leaders at the CSCMP Charlotte October Event featuring John D. Goodrich, Principle at JDGoodrich and Associates with a closer look at International Trade Policy and Agreements. Trade policy and agreements have been in the news frequently thanks to our election cycle. Negotiating good deals for business, government and consumers is vital to economic growth. The Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) has become a very hot topic and is the latest trade agreement the U.S. has negotiated with the eleven countries of Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru Singapore, and Vietnam If ratified and entered into force, the TPP will encompass 40% of the global economy and 48% of U.S. trade. But what really is the TPP? How will it affect my business or my area of the country? How does it relate to existing trade agreements such as NAFTA? Should my company participate in it? What should my company do to plan for its eventual implementation? Join us as trade consultant and self-proclaimed trade evangelist John D. Goodrich walks through the trade related elements of the proposed TPP. This is a networking and luncheon event sponsored by CSCMP Charlotte.

Join the Arizona CSCMP Roundtable in Southern Arizona at Caterpillar’s Tinaja Hills Demo and Training facilities just outside Green Valley, AZ for a lunch and a tour. The Caterpillar Tinaja Hills Demonstration & Learning Center sits on 6500 acres nestled in the Sonoran Desert near Green Valley. This facility was designed with one goal in mind, to provide a first class facility and staff dedicated to the world's ever-changing training needs. Driven by its flexibility, we can adapt to the training needs of our visitors, whether half-day seminars or week-long training sessions. Based in Peoria, Ill., Caterpillar uses about half of this vast facility for training technicians and operators from all over the world. Last year, Tinaja Hills hosted around 10,000 people looking to become certified in a piece of Caterpillar equipment, learn the latest maintenance practices or even discover tricks to make their machines operate more efficiently. Caterpillar recently consolidated their Glendale operations in Tucson and the Tinaja Hills locations, making this a rare opportunity for attendees to view their facilities and equipment. The AZ Roundtable will organize transportation at the facility for the tour around the grounds, but attendees are responsible to get to the facility.

Have you ever wondered what all the hype around “resilient supply chains” truly means? If so, you aren’t alone. At the CSCMP Dallas Roundtable meeting, we’re giving you the chance to try your hand at building a resilient supply chain without any (negative) effects to your business or community. During the event, you’ll play through a crisis scenario and experience all of the challenges that go along with it. We’ll learn about the ways you can and should work with other businesses and community groups during a crisis, and talk about why sometimes our perceptions about other sectors hinder our ability to mount an effective collaborative response. We’ll also discuss some easy yet powerful ways you can get your business on the road to increased resilience. The game uses a combination of technology and live action game play. No experience is necessary to participate, but you’ll want to bring your smart phone or tablet computer to join in. We will be also having Mrs.Kathy Fulton as our guest speaker, who is the Executive Director for the American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization ALAN, which majorly initiated this event. Mrs. Fulton participates in a number of national workgroups focused on efficient coordination of activities following disaster. She also serves as the president of the CSCMP Central Florida Roundtable. Registration and check-in at 5:30pm Simulation begins 6:00 pm Early registration will end by Oct 17th.
