On Thursday, August 11th, the Lehigh Valley Roundtable of CSCMP will host an afternoon tour of the Lehigh Zoo in Schnecksville, PA. Founded in 1904, the zoo was originally known as the Trexler Game Preserve. Today it is home to over 125 species of animals on 1,100 acres. Take a break from your office and join us for a tour of the zoo. Spend the day if you would like. Come out and see the animals. View behind the scenes areas where few outsiders get to go. Learn how things are prepared and the animals are taken care of. The cost of this event will include your admission to the zoo as well as the tour. With the admission you may enter the zoo at any time you would like during their business hours that day. As an added bonus, you can bring two children (12 and under) at no cost. A special rate ($12) is available for children 12 to 17. The tour will begin at the African Penguins exhibit just inside the front gate. 10 am the zoo opens. 2:20 the group meets at the African Penguins for the tour. 2:30 the tour begins. 4 pm the zoo closes. Member online preregistration is $25. Non-member preregistration is $35. Walk in registration is $40. Preregistration runs until August 4th.
