EVENT IS NOW SOLD OUT! On the 21st of July, please join the New York Capital District Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals for a VIP tour of APM Terminals - one of the largest container shipping terminals in the Port of New York/New Jersey. We will learn how they manage loading and unloading thousands of ocean shipping containers each day.  We’ll learn how they use x-ray to inspect shipments, how they trans-load to and from rail and truck, and how they cooperate with US Customs and Border Protection to insure the safety of our supply chains.  Registration is limited, seats are on a first come first serve basis. Join us for a tour of Buffalo Trace Distillery located in the rustic setting of the 1800's producing the best collection of bourbons and whiskies. The distillery is listed on the US National Historic Landmark registry providing employees, customers, tourists, and business travelers with a unique, enriching experience not found at any other distillery in the world. Bus service will be provided from Louisville, KY to Buffalo Trace located in Frankfort, KY. TOUR #1 - DISTILLERY TOUR - Walk amidst the path of rolling barrels and you will be captivated by the alluring smell and atmosphere of bourbon sleeping inside the aging warehouses. You will tour the renowned Blanton's Bottling Hall where you will see signature bourbons being filled, sealed, labeled, and packaged - all by hand. TOUR #2 - DISTRIBUTION CENTER TOUR - The DC tour will review the basic supply chain processes for spirits products, planning, bottling, storage, and distribution facility. We will finish up with the evolution of the finished goods distribution including the viewing of their latest innovation, an automated storage and retrieval system (AS/RS).
