Join us as we volunteer at Pine Street Inn in Boston! The mission of Pine Street Inn is to be a community of respect and hope for each guest it serves; to be a resource through which neighbors and friends can help to meet the basic needs of others; and to serve as a national leader in the fight to end homelessness. Founded in 1969, Pine Street Inn provides a comprehensive range of services to nearly 2,000 homeless men and women each day. It is the largest homeless services provider in New England. Pine Street Inn prepares 17,500 meals each week, 52 weeks a year.
We will be helping with meal prep. Volunteers will help slice, chop, and cook meals for people battling homelessness.
Facility Tour: This will also include a facility tour of the shelter where we will have the opportunity to learn more about the logistics of a homeless shelter and preparing over 17,500 meals per week!
***NOTE: Volunteers must dress appropriately for the shelter environment; long pants, closed-toed shoes and T-shirts are acceptable attire. Please do not wear sleeveless shirts, shorts or open-toed shoes. The Inn will provide aprons, hairnets and gloves for the volunteers.
