Event Registration - ALAN Presents: Supply Chain Disaster Simulation

Description:How would you respond to a crisis if your business supplied items desperately needed after a disaster? If you worked for a non-profit, could you ensure disaster survivors received everything they needed? What if you were a government employee charged with managing logistics for emergencies? This game-based session puts you in the role of a business, non-profit, or government organization working to deliver critical commodities to a community following a disruptive event. You’ll race against time to keep supplies moving while confronting challenges common to disaster. Performance metrics will be reviewed using data visualizations, and attendees will explore strategies for addressing real world supply chain risks simulated during the session.  Attendees should bring a Wi-Fi enabled smartphone or tablet to participate in this session. Event Description More Information: About the Presenter: Kathy Fulton is Executive Director for American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN). She leads the organization in facilitating donations of logistics services and equipment to enable delivery of millions of dollars of humanitarian aid. Kathy served as the organization's director of operations from 2010 until her promotion in 2014. Ms. Fulton's passion is the intersection of supply chain and emergency management, focusing on the critical role logistics and supply chain professionals play in disaster relief. She serves on national workgroups focused on efficient coordination of logistics activities during disasters, including those hosted by the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine, the Department of Homeland Security, the Transportation Research Board, National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster, and the National Emergency Management Association. Preceding her work with ALAN, Fulton was Senior Manager of Information Technology Services at Saddle Creek Logistics Services where she led IT infrastructure implementation and support, corporate systems, and business continuity planning. Kathy holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Northwestern State University of Louisiana and a Master's degree in Business Administration and Management Information Systems from the University of South Florida.
