Customer-Driven Trading Network for Collaborative Execution
This case was a finalist for the CSCMP 2013 Supply Chain Innovation Award.Motorola Solutions defined a new corporate vision: To become the leading global provider of mission-critical communications for government and enterprise customers. Motorola Solutions partnered with E2open to design and build a strategic solution for seamless information sharing, exception handling, and closed-loop process management. The overarching supply chain objectives would be to improve customer responsiveness, increase inventory velocity, and scale supply chain processes across both supply- and demand-side operations. At the crux of Motorola Solutions’ supply chain transformation initiative is the development of two innovative competencies: collaborative execution and speed to resolution. In simplest terms, collaborative execution is the ability of all partners in the global trading network to work together to resolve real and potential problems with the best available information—quickly, iteratively, and cost-effectively. To date, Motorola Solutions has onboarded more than 1,200 trading partners to its cloud-based, collaboration solution, with more than 5,000 users actively collaborating on the platform.Note: Case study fees are nonrefundable.
