CSCMP Chicago is holding a southwest suburbs Happy Hour in February!  We’ll meet at Franklin’s Public House on Harlem avenue, which is just over two miles from the 127th street exit off I-294.  Our session will be hosted by Geoff Shive with a discussion on Planning for Risk. We live in a world of change. If the COVID-19 pandemic and other events of the last few years have taught us anything it should be that we cannot take current stability for granted. Companies that do well at identifying and planning for risk are more likely to turn unexpected shock into success. How can we build risk assessment into our planning processes?  Some tools we might use include a risk register, SWOT analysis, a tornado diagram, or simulation.  Our speaker will lead a discussion on these and other tools that are used to anticipate, plan for, track, and respond to risks and opportunities.    Geoff Shive has over 35 years of experience in various engineering, project management, and supply chain roles. For the last seven years he has worked as a consultant helping clients with supply chain planning, software selection, and project management. He started Shive Supply Chain Solutions LLC in 2015 and most recently has worked as an advisor for Demand Chain AI, inc. Geoff earned his BS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago and holds multiple certifications including Project Management Professional, Certified Scrum Master, and Advanced Certified Professional Forecaster. Survival is optional. No one has to change. W. Edwards Deming
